There are a lot of graphics on this page so please be patient!

Many of us have a collection of t-shirts that we have amassed over the years from all sorts of events and/or places.  Motorcycle shops, car runs, vacations, sporting events, concerts/music festivals, your child’s interests or just an assortment of old favorites all can be put into a quilt that the recipient will be thrilled with.   All you do is supply me with the t-shirts and I do the rest.

I specialize in making high quality t-shirt quilts, which are a great way to showcase & preserve those memories.  I use a commercial quilting machine & strive to produce quilts that are made with premium materials and finished with a professional look.  100% pre-washed cotton fabrics are used both for the top and the backing, as well as a durable cotton/poly batting.  My quilts are machine quilted with a very fine monofilament thread on the top that compliments the shirts and produces a very attractive texture.  Less expensive quilts are “tied” which in my opinion does not give the top adequate stability and has a more of a “homemade” look.  Your finished quilt is washable and will last for many years.

FULL SIZE QUILT ~ 20 SHIRTS

Wall Hanging ~ 6 shirts

Wall Hanging Back

You can use one all-time favorite shirt for a pillow, 42+ shirts for a king-sized quilt or any size in between.  Both fronts & backs of shirts can be used.

What you do:

Please DO NOT cut up any shirts.

Choose the shirts you want to use, decide if you want to use fronts and/or backs.  You may want to use all or some of each. You can make a list for me or mark the sides you want to use with a small safety pin after washing them.

Wash them please, even if they are new.  Don’t use a fabric softener as it may interfere with the stabilizer.

(The stabilizing/quilting process will mask some small holes or runs but be aware that they still may be apparent on your quilt.  Often that gives a little character and is the look that is desired, particularly if you are using some old favorites.)

Fill out the order form, include the deposit & mail them to me.  I suggest that you insure your package.   If you are in the local area contact me and I’ll be glad to pick them up.

What I do:

Let you know that your shirts have arrived safely and approximately when your quilt will be ready.  Currently my turnaround time is 3-4 weeks.

Each shirt is cut in half and a lightweight stabilizer is applied to the backside to give them a uniform weight and make them more durable.  14” or 15” squares are cut around the designs/logos and “sashing” fabric is attached to each block.  These are then sewn together and an outside border is applied.    The backing, batting and quilt top are then loaded onto the quilting machine and stitched.  After being trimmed, a separate binding is applied to the outside edge for a clean, professional finish.

I will email you photos as soon as it is finished and will mail it as soon as payment is received.

Typically I choose a color for sashing and borders that compliments your assortment of shirts but if you have a color preference, you may indicate that on the order form or contact me to discuss details.
